About Tree Beard Construction

Tree Beard Construction Inc. was founded in 2019 by Jamie Ryder and John MacPhail, who had already spent years working together before building the company from the ground up.

Jamie is a Red Seal Carpenter with over 15 years of experience in residential, commercial, and structural construction. Based in Porters Lake, Tree Beard proudly serves the Eastern Shore and surrounding Nova Scotia communities with work built for local conditions and made to last.

Jamie and John have built Tree Beard on strong values: quality craftsmanship, honest work, and doing the job right the first time. They do not cut corners. Safety is a core part of every project. Jamie has long been an advocate for safe worksites and was previously a union organizer with the Atlantic Carpenters Union. Together, Jamie and John make sure every crew member has proper training, uses the right equipment, follows fall arrest requirements, and works to safe, professional standards.

John also brings a strong community focus to the company, having spent many years helping build homes for Habitat for Humanity. That same sense of purpose carries into Tree Beard’s approach today. The company is committed not only to solid construction, but also to environmental responsibility and building in a way that supports stronger communities.
